I don't know if it'll work on Contra, but I know whenever I'm in a tight spot in Gradius I check my controller. I mean I test every button twice. I'll pause the game, and then I check the control pad. UP UP , then DOWN DOWN. I also try the LEFT, then the RIGHT, then the LEFT again, and then the RIGHT one more time. Then I check the action buttons, B, then A, and Band then A again one more time. I'll then unpause, and its like everything has come available to me, and the controls work even better.

Sounds like Contra is one tough game to beat. You might want to do this controller check early... I mean like even before you start the game, like right when you turn on the your system. Just to make sure everything is working out.

Hope this works out, and keep checking that controller.

Sorry about that....have you tried it in Gradius III, or any of the Parodius games?

I tried inputting that code once in a 747 training simulator. It didn't really work that well. It almost got the other people a projectile vomit power up though. I think I did up down up down instead of up up down down.

I haven't, but I know that it works.
